Typical  Flight Crew Briefing

Flight crew briefing sessions were conducted in a very informal manner with the astronauts seated around a conference table. A chalkboard was provided along with an overhead projector for displaying diagrams and other training aids prepared by the instructor.  The astronauts were typically very active during these briefings and would participate to ask many questions  about the details of system design, especially as related to operational and contingency moding. Every attempt was made to answer all questions, even though some were  beyond the scope of the presentation, but valid in that they could address or suggest  the need for engineering design  changes.

Pictured L/R are Astronauts Gus Grissom, Dr. Joe Kerwin, Jim McDivitt, and others not recognized from the photo.
