This section is devoted to special articles or comments of the
Apollo Training Team instructors as related to their personal
activities and experience(s) during the program. Each member of the team
was required to travel primarily to the Johnson Spacecraft Center (JSC)
in Houston, and the Launch Complex in Florida to conduct classes.
Their travels also took them to associate & subcontractor sites
for systems engineering briefings & reviews. Many of the team
members served in their spare time to support community educational
and fraternal organizations where Apollo mission and space systems
lectures were requested. Some of these were through the company's
Public Relations Department, while others came from requests directed
to the Training Department.
Many stories of experiences during travel or in the classroom (or
otherwise), were exchanged among informal gatherings of instructor
personnel at coffee breaks or other social gatherings of the training
team. Some of the stories (all true of course) are special in some
way, and the team members would like to share them with you in this
section.
